This lavish book covers the vast scope of Gauguin’s art in a chronological order, with 125 colour plates (France, Tahiti) and hundreds of b&w illustrations. Some large colour plates spread over 4 pages when opening it. Comments from the artist’s contemporaries and selections from his personal journal reveal the man and his work.
